Roanoke, Indiana · Since 1978

The year the first Ironclad machine broke ground

Two generations of moving northeast Indiana’s dirt.

Family-owned excavation and site work — dig, utilities, grade, and build — for Huntington, Allen & Whitley counties. The same crews, many here since the early ’80s.

The proof is in the record

A National Excellence in Construction Award for the Maumee River widening.

Awarded by the Associated Builders and Contractors. In the years around it — 1990 through 1996 — Ironclad moved on average a million yards of dirt a year. This is a crew that has done the big jobs, and done them well enough to be recognized nationally for it.

What Ironclad does

From the first cut to the final grade.

A full site package under one roof — the reason a general contractor can hand Ironclad the dirt and stop worrying about it.

01

Excavation & earthmoving

Mass excavation, cut and fill, building pads, and dirt moving at scale — the core of the business since 1978.

Site / mass
02

Sewer & water utilities

Underground water and sanitary/storm sewer — the wet utilities most site packages hinge on, installed and tied in.

Underground
03

Grading & site development

Rough and finish grading, drainage, and site prep that leaves a pad ready for the next trade.

Grade / drain
04

Design-build

Bring Ironclad in early and let the crew that will move the dirt help plan how it moves — fewer surprises, tighter schedule.

Commercial & industrial sitework

The larger, more technical jobs — the work that earned a national award — alongside residential and building-trades support.

Run by Junior & Jennifer Geiger.

Ironclad has been the Geiger family’s business since 1978 — Junior in the field, Jennifer as president — on a road in Roanoke that literally carries the family name. When you hire Ironclad, you’re hiring the people whose name is on the door.

For comparison: local agencies charge $3,000–$6,000 to build, managed website services run $299–$450/mo, and marketing firms bill $1,100–$2,300+/mo. Every Ironclad build includes a care plan (min. $20/mo) so the site is never left unhosted. Figures are July-2026 market estimates.

Your web address

Your old address is sitting open — let’s grab it back.

Ironclad’s former website address has lapsed and is unregistered right now — meaning anyone could take it. Part of onboarding is securing the right domain in your name. Availability checked 2026-08-03.

Questions about working with us

How much and how long?

From $99/mo with nothing down, or $1,500 to own it outright plus a care plan from $49/mo. Most sites like this go live in about 2–3 weeks once we have your photos and details.

Do I own the site, or am I renting it?

Your call. The one-time build is yours to keep. The monthly plan bundles the build into a subscription — lower commitment, everything handled. Either way the domain is registered in your name.

What does the monthly actually cover?

Hosting, SSL, backups, uptime monitoring, security, and ongoing edits — new services, new photos, price or hours changes. You email, we update.

What if I already have a domain?

You own ironcladexc.com for email — we can point it at the new site or set up a matching web address. Your old ironcladexcavating.com is open again; we can reclaim it for you.

Can I cancel?

Yes — the monthly plan has a 12-month minimum, then it’s cancel-anytime. No long lock-in.

The design system

Here’s the system we’d build you.

Every color, typeface, and detail on this page is deliberate — drawn from what Ironclad actually is: iron, earth, and heavy equipment.

Palette — iron, earth & safety amber

Iron
Amber
Clay
Bone
Aggregate
Hi-viz

Dark iron base, warm earth mids, one hi-viz amber for the machine.

Type — heavy display + mono spec

1978 Archivo Black — the numerals

Grotesk body for readability, mono for survey-style labels. Numbers carry the page.

Motif — dimension & grade lines

Survey stakes and cut/fill lines — excavation is moving earth by the numbers.
